back pain
12th July 2024
We are not able to provide you with a diagnosis – your doctor will. However, low back pain and perineal sensitivity can indeed be symptoms of prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate). It could be that the bulge in your L5 intervertebral disc is not the cause of the back pain you are experiencing. If your doctor comes to a diagnosis of chronic bacterial prostatitis then prolonged antibiotic therapy will be required (Lipsky, 2024). However, nonbacterial forms of prostatitis occur and in these cases the causes are generally unknown and the symptoms are treated as required.
